Chip Duncan
January was a slow month for progress on this project. We had cold, windy and snowy days that made it either unsafe or too physically abusive to work outside in the Western New York, shore of Lake Ontario weather. We were able to make progress on about 25% of the work days of the month. The best weather of the month occurred on the week the contractor had a pre scheduled vacation to the south.
In any case you will be able to see from the pictures I put on the gallery today that the outside is now coming close to completion. As of 4:30 PM yesterday, the main part of the building is now a dry building, meaning we can now proceed with inside work. The ceiling drywall arrived yesterday afternoon, all 8500 sq ft of it. If you want to feel tired just stop by and look of the stacks of 4' x 12' sheets of 5/8" drywall and think of how you might feel after handling those sheets for a full day. Its enough exercise that you will not feel the chill of the 20 degree days we expect next week. You could also skip your workout at the gym that day.
The contractor will begin the ceiling drywall installation along with the blown in ceiling insulation to R-38 level next week. Newman Electric will also begin the first of the rough in electrical the week of Feb 15.
In early January I installed a video survalence system for security on the site. I would invite you all to visit the site and and have your picture taken and see the progress on the project. W even have infrared cameras for night pictures I expect to put the locks on the doors this coming Monday. If you plan to visit and want to take a look inside you can call me at 585-414-4302 to see if we are working that day so you can get the whole tour of the site.
The impression of most visitors to the site is "Wow". You should stop by if you have not already done so. We have already had visitors from as far away as Florida and Arizona.
Continue to pray for the project and the safety of the workers.
